The puppies are now just over four weeks old and they are on the MOVE! They are definitely bigger than the muppies were at the same age, but the verdict is still out on what breed mix they are. Any guesses?
The boys are all named for German show jumping riders and the girls are named for a couple crazy women in history from a Stuff You Missed in History Class podcast I listened to recently.
In the meantime, enjoy your puppy fix! We will have them for just a couple more weeks before they head north to their new homes!
Tilly in the middle flanked by brothers Christian and Marco.
Cute little poser! This is Ludger.
Puppy pile! Sister Tilly looking at the camera. She is lying on brother Marcus next to Ludger and Marco.
They are slowly getting brave enough to leave their tack room. I think this is Kately.
Release the “hounds”! Puppies on the move!
Yesterday I posted a photo of a cut/puncture wound in Coco’s nose on my social media accounts and subsequently was asked by a few folks how I found said wound. So, here you go.
Note the trail of blood trickling out her nose. She also has a cut on the outside of her nose.
It was not a tremendous amount of blood considering it was a “facial” wound, which usually bleed a LOT. She did NOT enjoy having it cleaned and putting medicine in her nose, but I can understand that and she really wasn’t terrible.
This photo is after I cleaned the injury and before I put medicine on it, you know, to send to my vet. When my vet builds a new building at his clinic I really think it should be named for me after all the money I’ve given him this year.
This photo really doesn’t do the injury justice. It is at least 1.5″ long and .25″ deep, if not deeper. It’s a pretty stout cut/puncture. I still have no idea how she got it.
To make up for the gross blood/injury photos, I give you PUPPIES!
Sleepy baby girl #1.
There are only two girls in this litter. SO CUTE!
On the move girl #2 with brothers in the background. They are getting VERY active!
Pablo was being weirdly nice to the dogs yesterday. Quila wasn’t too sure of his intentions, however.
P: Hello, dog friend. I would like to smell you.
Q: WTF are you doing, you ass.
And this morning I got to share my latte with a visitor to the barn!
Hello young grasshopper.
It is BLAZING hot here in Texas so I’ll be getting rides in early in the morning this weekend and possibly cutting all my hair off tomorrow. Have a GREAT weekend!
Mama Jessie has decided it is time for the muppies to enter their next step in their path to adult muppiness and is refusing to nurse or clean up after them. I totally get the nursing part since they have teeth now, but now I have to clean up all the poo!
There are few things as cute as 11 muppies charging at you every time they see you! They bark, and growl, and play , and do all the cute puppy things!

Sleepy!

Denise is much smaller than all the others, but she is the feistiest!!
Y’all. The muppies are growing SO fast! They are eating mushy food. They can walk without tumbling over as much. They are VERY chatty!
Ready to RUN! They burst out the door whenever it opens now that they have their land legs.
They are transitioning to real dog food and water.
Gladys is one of my favorites. She is easy to tell apart from her siblings because her face is mostly white. Pics are fuzzy because puppies don’t stay still for long!
I *think* this is Kermit. He looks like he is going to have wiry hair like his Mum.
Sleep. Eat. Play. Repeat. This is the life of a muppy!
Happy FriYAY all! Casey and I are headed west to a Stock Horse of Texas show. This will be my first horse show in western tack in about 15 years! Hopefully all goes well and we get some ribbons and some interest in buying Casey.
This week has been delightfully less eventful than weeks past. Still lots of prescription meds in the cabinets for various animals, but most seem to be on the mend.
Catfish and Mickey snuggles before Mickey had his surgery. Catfish is always sweet with the little dogs, even though he can’t see them.
We got nearly an inch of rain this week and the temps have been amazingly cool. The forecast for the next 10 days has the highs in the low 90s and high 80s, which is remarkable for Texas in August! I’ll take it! Sterling got the all clear last weekend for turnout (with a quiet buddy) and walk/trot rides. It has been nice to be back in the tack for some easy hill walking.
Sterling also enjoys the rain. Why is it that the horse that is closest to the color white is the one that most feels the need to roll in mud? None of the brown horses have this dirty habit.
The muppies are continuing to eat and grow, eat and grow, and eat and grow. The puppy timelines say their eyes should be open by now, but they are taking their time and appear to be enjoying their eat and grow schedule. Very few workouts for these muppies so far. I’ll probably be eating my words a week from now!
Muppy pile!
Harriet is almost done with her post-heartworm-treatment meds and is ready for YOU to adopt her! She is so wonderful and will be an amazing doggo for someone.
Harriet found/made her very own doggy canopy bed. This is her new favorite place to sleep.
Happy weekend y’all!
